Sports
Touch is dedicated to providing health education to people and
organizations, with efforts dedicated to healing the whole
body. We believe our work benefits society as a whole.
We utilize accumulated knowledge, solid data, and facts
to help empower people on ways they can become responsible for
gaining control over the quality of their health and
lifestyle. Armed
with solid information, people make educated decisions about
taking charge of their health.
Kate Montgomery, Naturopathic Doctor, certified sports
massage therapist, and celebrated author (The Athletic Ritual,
and End Your Carpal Tunnel Pain Without Surgery), established
Sports Touch in 1985. The
Sports Touch goals are commitment to research, to the
dissemination of knowledge in the areas of natural healing,
quality of life, repetitive stress disorders (RSD’s), and
scientific-oriented nutritional programs.
We are currently studying the pioneering works (hair
tissue mineral analysis) of Drs. Paul Eck, Lawrence Wilson,
and Joseph D. Campbell, and the affect on health problems such
as obesity, sedentary lifestyles, environmental toxicity, and
behavior modification (due to poor nutrition and drugs).
Kate
has been involved in the RSD movement - to bring about change
since - the early ‘90’s.
Much of her focus in RSD research and education has
been devoted to women. RSD strikes women more often then men. It is ranked near the top in reported injury cases for women,
with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) accounting for nearly
sixty-two percent of all work-related repetitive strains.
CTS is the second most performed surgical procedure for
work related injuries. With
the break-through book, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Prevention
& Treatment, (‘92) later re-titled and published by
Rutledge Hill Press, End Your Carpal Tunnel Pain Without
Surgery, (‘98) thousands of people have avoided surgery for
CTS, and found healing through The Montgomery Method.
Through
the use of musculo-skeletal injury reduction techniques, we
have been instrumental in improving the performance and
longevity of professional and Olympic athletes, and extended
the careers of many professional musicians.
We continue our work today - providing workshops and
seminars for industry groups and various organizations.
A
new addition, and keeping with our tradition of healing the
mind/body connection, we are in the development stages of
launching Spirit Tours for Women.
Tours are held in exotic locations throughout the
world, with emphasis on “teaching women how to uncover the
secrets to the maps of her body.”
Our goal is to help women discover the delicate art of
“healing oneself,” while developing the innate skills as a
Spirit Healer.
At
Sports Touch, we strive to meet the needs for those that need
our help. We
incorporate unique, flexible, and innovative techniques that
are simple, easy to learn, and in most instances, achieve an
immediate healing response.
We believe in an honest approach to wellness - through
integrity and forthrightness.
Please
join us in celebrating life, freedom of choice in health care,
and always the unending search for ways to heal the human
body. |
