Lola's Journey to Recapture Her Health

One of my woman clients recently made this comment to me:

"When you are young you give up everything including your health for money. When you are older, you spend all your money looking for health."

Lola is one of my clients who began my program using hair analysis as her guide beginning in 2004. She sent me this email which describes her life and her eventual decline in health - her search for wellness ... and how she came to find my program.

Lola's Story

It seems to me that most women are more concerned with their appearance than their overall health. That is, until a health crisis occurs. I was such a woman and this is my story

My name is Lola and I am 43 years old. My whole life I have been blessed with good health and good looks. I have never broken any bones or been hospitalized. I basically took my health for granted.

I don't take good health for granted anymore. Looking back now, I should have known that I would eventually pay for the chronic stress and hurried lifestyle that I was accustomed to. Stress was my constant companion since childhood. My parents divorced when I was three. My new stepfather was verbally abusive and I remember the constant tension in my household growing up. It's no wonder that I was always on edge. Every Christmas and during most family vacations, I was sick in bed with the flu. This continued for seven years. When I entered puberty I suffered with very heavy periods and cramping. Not knowing any better, I thought that this was normal. I now suspect that my stress level was a great contributor to the pain I felt.

Enter my 20's ... I gratefully moved from my parents' house to create a place of my own. I was an intelligent young woman and I quickly found a great job on the fast track. Although I was no longer living at home, my family problems still continued. It was all building until I reached the age of 27. At that time I was hit with numerous symptoms that were puzzling and very concerning. I was experiencing severe anxiety and panic, a temporary and strange tingling in my arms, headaches, stomachaches, mitral valve prolapse, difficult periods and painful intercourse. After a number of frustrating visits to a number of doctors, I was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis.

They say that there is no cure for endometriosis. Over time, I was put on trials of several hormone drugs to 'manage' my disease. However, I was never satisfied or comfortable that I had corrected my problem. What I didn't know then, was that my endometriosis was a blessing in disguise. I was determined to solve my health challenge and take responsibility for how I felt. I learned to challenge what conventional health professionals claimed. I was on the road to recovery.

Through a series of 'coincidences' I was lead to a wonderful alternative practitioner. He said that his daughter has also suffered with endometriosis and that he had cured her within three months! I was very excited. Interestingly, that particular morning, my gynecologist had sent me for a pelvic ultrasound. The results were very discouraging.

Anyway, after a few months of working with the alternative doctor, I was symptom free! Also, in a twist of fate, my gynecologist had discovered that they had lost the ultrasound and asked that I undergo another test. I obliged and was VERY pleased to be told that my endometriosis had completely disappeared! Since that time, I have met other women who have been cured of endometriosis by various means. My lesson - so called incurable diseases can be indeed be cured. Just be persistent and believe it can happen.

Now for my 30's ... My pace was still fast. I was still chronically stressed and suffering from recurring yeast infections. I was commuting to New York to maintain a long distance relationship, purchased my first house, changed jobs, and went on a safari to Africa all at the same time. I hadn't learned to pace myself and I would pay later!

When I returned from my trip my body had many complaints. My throat was hoarse and felt like it had a lump in it, my joints ached, I started having blood sugar problems and most distressing - my hair was thinning! I suspect that the various mandatory inoculations and anti-malaria pills that I needed didn't help either. I was feeling sick and depressed. It took me several years to recover from my full steam ahead lifestyle. I hadn't learned to slow down, but I did start learning more about alternative health care.

It was unfortunately not until I reached my 40's that I really correlated my stress level to what was happening inside my body. At 38 years old, events conspired to promote me to a very exciting and very hectic new job It was an international transfer for me and I left friends and family all behind to pursue a career that I had to learn from scratch. And there was weekly travel ... lots of travel ... I worked grueling hours for the first few years to learn my new craft. I was very successful. Yes, I was stressed but I thought that I was handling it despite having lost too much weight without trying.

Again, the physical symptoms caught up with me. I found myself to be 'bone' tired no matter how much sleep and rest I got. My periods were heavy again, my hair still somewhat lifeless and thin. My headaches were returning as well as other aches and pains. My complexion was tired and murky. I knew that I had some research to do to restore my health ... I knew that I had to make changes ...

For the first time in my life, I really correlated how I was doing physically with how much stress I was encountering. I read all of the health care information that I could get my hands on and consulted a wide array of books and Internet articles. I knew that I needed to restore balance both in my body and in my life. I was sure that good nutrition and vitamin supplements, stress reduction, moderate exercise and other lifestyle changes would support my body to return to more optimal functioning.

That's when I found KatÈ Montgomery and Analytical Research Labs. After a preliminary hair sample was analyzed, KatÈ explained how my body was handling stress and she interpreted my lab results in very understandable terms. After taking a specific combination of vitamins and supplements tailored just for me over the last year. I can see definite improvement. My energy has rebounded, my eyelashes have gotten longer, and the skin under my eyes is firmer and younger looking. Even my dentist asked what I had been doing differently lately, as my gums looked much improved. My optometrist reduced my eyeglass prescription too!

Hopefully, I have now learned to moderate my pace. My workload is much less with my current employer and I no longer take work home. I am taking more vacations and learning to relax and enjoy my life more... I know now that good health is not an accident or to be taken for granted.

Prolog ... Lola recently quit her job and is looking toward a life that is a lot less stressful, more relaxing and with much more joy in all that she is blessed with.

In looking back at my notes, these are the changes that Lola noted after 6 months on my program.

Her ovarian pain was gone. Body changes - such as her body was changing shape - re-contouring, a flatter stomach, energy was better, waking up in the morning without the feeling of being dead tired, skin rashes were gone, mental attitude good, skin clear and palpation of underarm lymph nodes no longer painful, and no longer feeling depressed.

At 10 months, Lola made these comments: skin improving, no longer feel depressed, a more positive attitude, able to handle things better at work, more optimistic, more energy, able to enjoy life, dress size has gone down, just feeling so much better about everything. This is also when Lola saw her eye doctor and he reduced her prescription and the dentist noted positive changes in her gum health, less plaque etc.

At 18 months, a follow up retest and Lola has continued to show steady improvement in her metabolic rate, and the rebalance of minerals in her body. Along with improvement in blood sugar status (less risk of diabetic trend, glucose metabolism has improved), thyroid (Ca/K) and adrenal (Na/Mg) and vitality or state of ones health (Na/K) ratios have all improved. Her immune system has improved (trends toward allergies improved) and emotional issues - anxiety and depression have indicated a diminished trend. All are resolving as her body rebalances its minerals.

The proverb "If you don't have your health you don't have anything" is now an increasing fact in today's fast paced and very stressful world.

The Key to Health is a balance of the minerals and vitamins that our Body needs to sustain a healthy existence. The only way to find out exactly what you need is to do a hair analysis and see where your Body's trend is heading. Once you know you can reverse a disease process, which not only can lead to a physical disorder but to the emotional symptoms as well.

I hope Lola's journey will inspire all women to know that what they feel is not "All In There Head", and there is a way back when all looks hopeless.

Follow-up: Since this letter, Lola made some major decisions regarding her lifestyle and decided to quit her job, reduce the stress that was destroying her health and moved on to a life she has dreamed of and is now a reality.
