CITIZEN'S FOR HEALTH
"The importance of the legislation cannot be overstated," said Dee
Mana Christoff, Citizens' National Chapter Relations Director. "However,
a strong need for state legislation to protect consumer access to unconventional
treatments remains. State medical boards still determine licensing qualifications.
In many states, medical boards may revoke a practitioner's license based on
its opinion that his or her use of alternative treatments constitutes 'unprofessional
conduct'." As a result, the federal and state legislative efforts serve
as a perfect complement to one another in ensuring the rights of consumers,
practitioners and other providers of drugless products and services.
